Notice of Public Hearing
Under
IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on June 14, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. EDT, in the Showroom at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana, 11999 Casino Center Drive SE, Elizabeth, Indiana, the Board of Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that adds
655 IAC 1-2.1-2.1 for the purpose of providing for late filing of accrued continuing education.
There is no fiscal impact for this rule because it only creates a process by which certified persons may submit their recertification documentation after the deadline imposed by the Board's rules. The proposed rule will impose costs only on certified persons who have delayed the submission of their recertification documentation until after the deadline imposed by the Board's rules. The purpose of the rule is to allow those persons to become recertified within a specified delayed period of time as an alternative to having their certification lapse, with the resulting costs of becoming recertified, or having to apply for, and receive, a variance from the Commission. The Board of Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education has authority to adopt this rule under
IC 22-14-2-7.
Public comments are invited and may be directed to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Code Services Section, Attn: Mara Snyder, Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Room W246, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Room W246 and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
