Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on May 31, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, at the Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 22, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that adds the 2012 Indiana Plumbing Code and repeals 675 IAC 16-1.3 (the 1999 Indiana Plumbing Code) and 675 IAC 16-2.

The new code is being adopted to synchronize the plumbing code with the current building, fire, mechanical and fuel gas codes, as well as to create a more updated version of the Indiana Plumbing Code to allow the use of new technologies for materials and methods that also result in cost savings to the regulated community. The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has the authority to adopt this rule under IC 22-13-2.
