Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on May 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room B, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board will hold a public hearing to propose amendments to 839 IAC 1-1-4, 839 IAC 1-2-1, 839 IAC 1-2-2.1, 839 IAC 1-2-5, 839 IAC 1-5-1, 839 IAC 1-5-2, 839 IAC 1-5-3, 839 IAC 1-6-1, 839 IAC 1-6-2, and 839 IAC 1-6-3 and propose the addition of 839 IAC 1-1-4.1, 839 IAC 1-1-4.2, 839 IAC 1-1-4.3, and 839 IAC 1-5.5 to implement rules based on IC 25-23.6-8.5 to establish educational, experience, licensing, and continuing education requirements for mental health counselor associates and with the requirements of IC 25-23.6-10.5 to establish educational, experience, licensing, and continuing education requirements for addiction counselors and clinical addiction counselors.

The Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board has the authority to promulgate rules in accordance with IC 25-23.6-2-8 in order to implement changes in accordance with the requirements of IC 25-23.6-8.5 and IC 25-23.6-10.5. This rule will have no fiscal impact on small businesses or impose any cost to state or local government.

Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072 and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
