Public Notice Regarding Changes in Statewide Methods and
Standards for Setting Payments for Medicaid Enrolled Nursing Facilities
In accordance with the public notice requirements of 42 CFR 447.205 and Section 1902(a)(13)(A) of the Social Security Act, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning publishes this notice of proposed changes to the reimbursement methodology for nursing facilities.
The Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) proposes to modify the rate setting formula for nursing facilities (codified at 405 IAC 1-14.6
) to encourage improved quality of care to residents. Specifically, an adjustment will be made to increase the Medicaid rate for the period April 1, 2012, through June 30, 2012, to restore the reductions in rates paid to nursing facilities due to the expiration of enhanced quality reimbursement methodologies during the period July 1, 2011, through September 30, 2011.
These changes will result in increased Medicaid reimbursement to nursing facilities of approximately $45 million (state and federal) for SFY 2012.
A copy of this notice is now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W451, Indianapolis, Indiana and open for public inspection. Also, a copy of this notice is now available and may be inspected by contacting the local county division of family resources office, except in Marion County, where public inspection may be made at 402 West Washington Street, Room W374, Indianapolis, Indiana.
