FOR: PARDON FOR CLYDE HARRIS
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;
WHEREAS, CLYDE HARRIS, who petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1987 in Marion County of Possession of Cocaine, for which he successfully fulfilled his obligations without incident or violation of parole; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner, is now a 54 year-old man who has been a productive member of society and has, since this instant offense, lived a drug free and law-abiding life; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner works with others who are drug addicts, serves on his neighborhood crime watch committee, and seeks to pursue other career opportunities within Central Indiana; and
WHEREAS, numerous letters of support urging the Governor to grant this Pardon as the petitioner is a symbol of how drug rehabilitation can work; and
WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State do hereby issue a Pardon to CLYDE HARRIS.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 23rd day of November, 2011.
