FOR: PARDON FOR JESSE GOMEZ
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;
WHEREAS, JESSE GOMEZ, who petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1983 in Lake County of Possession of Cocaine, for which he fulfilled his sentence without incident or violation of parole; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner, is now a 55 year-old man who has been a productive member of society while remaining employed for the last twenty-eight years and has, since this instant offense, lived a law-abiding life; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner furthered his education, earning a Bachelor's of Science and a Master's is seeking to gain security clearance to open up other professional opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner admits his youthful and regrettable indiscretion; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner, has numerous letters of support urging the Governor to grant this Pardon; and
WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State do hereby issue a Pardon to JESSE GOMEZ.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 23rd day of November, 2011.
