Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on September 29, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana Department of Education Riley Room, 151 West Ohio Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Board of Education will hold a public hearing on proposed changes to Title 511 of the Indiana Administrative Code to amend 511 IAC 6-7.1-4 to require students to earn two credits in either mathematics or mathematical reasoning courses during their junior or senior year, to amend 511 IAC 6-7.1-5 to require six mathematics credits be earned after a student begins high school and to require students to take mathematics or mathematical reasoning courses each year of high school, to amend 511 IAC 6-7.1-6 to require students to take mathematics or mathematical reasoning courses each year of high school, to require six mathematics credits be earned after a student begins high school, to require a minimum score of 1750 on the SAT and minimum section scores of 530, and to require completion of the written segment of the ACT, and to amend 511 IAC 6-7.1-7 to require six mathematics credits be earned after a student begins high school, to require students take mathematics or mathematical reasoning courses each year of high school, and regarding requirements of the Core 40 Technical Honors diploma.
The proposed rule would not impose requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3).
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Department of Education, 151 West Ohio Street and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
