TITLE 68 INDIANA GAMING COMMISSION

Notice of Public Hearing
LSA Document #11-248

Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on October 17, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at the Indiana Gaming Commission, PNC Center, 101 West Washington Street, Suite 1600-East Tower, Executive Conference Room, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Gaming Commission will hold a public hearing on a new proposed rule amending 68 IAC concerning the duty of casino licensees to prevent certain persons from winning certain promotional event prizes, gaming by persons associated with a casino or supplier licensee, and participation in promotional events by immediate family members of certain occupational licensees.
The Indiana Gaming Commission has the authority to adopt this rule under IC 4-33-4 and IC 4-35-4. It is estimated that zero small businesses in the gaming industry would be affected by this rule. The proposed rule will increase costs for casino companies to comply with the new duty to take reasonable steps to ensure that disqualified patrons do not receive promotional prizes in violation of the proposed rule. These costs are associated with the increase in standards that the Commission has determined to be necessary to ensure the credibility and, therefore, integrity of promotional events and casino gambling. The Commission has relied on internal analysis and comments from the Casino Association of Indiana regarding costs.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Gaming Commission, 101 West Washington Street, Suite 1600-East Tower and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
