Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on March 28, 2011, at 9:05 a.m., at the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to 839 IAC 1-2-1, 839 IAC 1-2-2, 839 IAC 1-4-5, 839 IAC 1-6-2, and 839 IAC 1-6-3 and new sections 839 IAC 1-1-3.9, 839 IAC 1-4-3.1, 839 IAC 1-4-3.2, and 839 IAC 1-4-3.3 to implement rules based on P.L.134-2008 (HEA 1172) to establish educational, experience, licensing, and continuing education requirements for marriage and family therapist associates.

The Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board has the authority to promulgate rules in accordance with IC 25-23.6-2-8 in order to implement changes in accordance with the requirements of P.L.134-2008 (HEA 1172) allowing for the establishment of educational, experience, licensing, and continuing education requirements for marriage and family therapist associates. The proposed rule for marriage and family therapist associates will not have an estimated economic impact of greater than $500,000 on regulated persons. The proposed rule will not have a fiscal impact on state or local government. The proposed rule for marriage and family therapist associates will not impose costs on the small businesses affected by this proposed rule.
