IC 4-22-2.1-5 Statement Concerning Rules Affecting Small Businesses
Estimated Number of Small Businesses Subject to this Rule:
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in 2010 regulated 13 coal companies actively mining coal in Indiana. Two companies meet the criteria listed in
IC 5-28-2-6 for small business coal operators.
Estimated Average Annual Reporting, Record Keeping, and Other Administrative Costs Small Businesses Will Incur for Compliance:
The DNR estimates that no new annual administrative costs would be incurred by a small business to comply with this rule.
Estimated Total Annual Economic Impact on Small Businesses to Comply:
The DNR estimates that there will be no annual economic impact on small businesses as a result of compliance with these rules.
Justification Statement of Requirement or Cost:
No consideration was required by the Division for alternative methods.
Regulatory Flexibility Analysis of Alternative Methods:
Given the determination of no economic impact, there were no alternative methods considered.
