IC 4-22-2.1-5 Statement Concerning Rules Affecting Small Businesses
The proposed rule will not impose requirements or costs on small businesses under IC 4-22-2.1-5. The proposed rule requires preparation of transitional services plans for youth aging out of foster care and transitioning to independent living. The plans will be prepared jointly by the affected youth and staff of the Department of Child Services, for youth for whom it has wardship or supervision responsibility through child in need of services cases, or by the affected youth and county probation officers, for youth for whom the county probation departments have wardship or supervision responsibility through juvenile delinquency cases.
Residential facilities and service providers, some of whom may be small businesses, will assist in the preparation of plans for youth for whom they are currently providing or will provide contracted services. The Department's current policies already require those service providers to participate in transition planning for independent living services to be provided to youth aging out of foster care and for whom they are currently providing or will provide services.
