TITLE 312 NATURAL RESOURCES COMMISSION

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the Natural Resources Commission intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: Amends 312 IAC 9-10-9 governing wild animal rehabilitation permits by amending requirements for obtaining a permit, requiring continuing education for permit holders, authorizing inspections by a DNR conservation officer, and specifying requirements for the care, treatment, marking, housing, possession, and release of wild animals taken in for rehabilitation. Establishes requirements for keeping nonreleasable wild animals, for assistants; for the disposition of wild animals, and for the public display of wild animals. Requires notification to the department of the possession of an endangered species or criminal activity, adds requirements for carrying a copy of a permit, and modifies the dates when annual reports and renewal applications are due. Effective 30 days after filing with the Publisher.
