Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on July 9, 2010, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana State Library, 315 West Ohio Street, History Reference Room 211, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Board of Education will hold a public hearing on proposed changes to 511 IAC to change the school accreditation category label of "exemplary progress" to "A", the label of "commendable progress" to "B", the label of "academic progress" to "C", the label of "academic watch" to "D", and the label of "academic probation" to "F" and to require the state board to collaborate with stakeholders to determine the feasibility of separating AYP from state accountability determinations and to revise the criteria used to place schools in school improvement and performance categories.

The proposed rule amendments would not impose requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3).

Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Department of Education, 151 West Ohio Street and Legislative Services Agency, Indiana Government Center North, 100 North Senate Avenue, Room N201, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
