DEVELOPMENT OF AMENDMENTS TO RULES CONCERNING COMPLIANCE MONITORING


PURPOSE OF NOTICE
A Second Notice of Comment Period was published on March 31, 2010, in the Indiana Register (DIN: 20100331-IR-326050330SNA). The draft rule includes amendments to 326 IAC 3 concerning compliance monitoring and 326 IAC 7-2 concerning sulfur dioxide compliance requirements. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has received requests for an extension of the comment period so that all interested parties could have additional opportunity to provide comment on the draft rule language. Therefore, IDEM is providing this extension for submission of comments on the draft rule language. IDEM is not adding or deleting draft language by this notice. Comments submitted to IDEM from the original comment period deadline through June 11, 2010, will be considered to be received as part of the formal written comment period by IDEM.

SUBJECT MATTER AND BASIC PURPOSE OF RULEMAKING
Basic Purpose and Background
The purpose of this rulemaking is to correct deficiencies identified by U.S. EPA to obtain federal approval of these rules into the state implementation plan, to address certain testing requirements for peaking units, and to make various corrections and clarifications identified by IDEM staff. The purpose of this notice is to provide an extension to the public comment period for the second notice published in the Indiana Register on March 31, 2010 (DIN: 20100331-IR-326050330SNA).

REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS
This notice requests the submission of comments on the draft rule language, including suggestions for specific revisions to language to be contained in the draft rule. Mailed comments should be addressed to:
