IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on July 9, 2010, at 9:30 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 4, Indianapolis, Indiana, the State Psychology Board will hold a public hearing to add definitions, amend
868 IAC 1.1-13-4 to update application requirements for endorsement as a health service provider in psychology, add
868 IAC 1.1-13-3.1 to specify the requirements to allow a health service provider in psychology to have two years of sequential and organized professional experience in a supervised health service setting as a requirement of endorsement, and repeal
868 IAC 1.1-13-3.
The proposed rule will not impose costs on small businesses under
IC 4-22-2.1-5.
IC 25-33-1-5.1 charges the Board with the task of adopting a rule defining "sequential and organized" supervised professional experience in order to specify the requirements to allow a health service provider in psychology to have two years of sequential and organized professional experience in a supervised health service setting as a requirement of endorsement, thus allowing an applicant to earn clinical hours prior to the doctoral degree being conferred. The current rule only allows a psychologist to begin accruing requisite hours after earning a degree. This means that the psychologist forfeits either hours earned in practicum experiences or those earned after the degree requirements are met but prior to receipt of the degree. The new rule will allow a psychologist to count practicum and other experiences before the degree is conferred as well as hours earned after the degree is conferred.
