Under
IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on May 13, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at the Indiana Gaming Commission, 101 West Washington Street, Suite 1600-East Tower, Executive Conference Room, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Gaming Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule amending
68 IAC 11-3-2 concerning casino internal controls, amending
68 IAC 15-8-1 concerning a casino licensee's independent audit committee, amending
68 IAC 15-14 concerning financial statement audits, and making numerous administrative, ministerial, and technical changes.
The Indiana Gaming Commission has the authority to promulgate rules in accordance with the requirements of
IC 4-33 and
IC 4-35. It is estimated that zero small businesses in the gaming industry would be affected by this rule. The proposed rule may increase costs for casino companies if they need to add compensated members to their independent audit committees, add an independent director, or switch accounting firms due to the new regulations. These costs are impossible to estimate without examining each casino's board of directors and contracts with accounting firms. The Commission has relied solely on internal analysis regarding the imposition of costs.
