Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on April 15, 2010, at 9:35 a.m., at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 4152 North Keystone Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that will add 345 IAC 13 to clarify procedures for registering commercial dog brokers and dog breeders.

The Indiana State Board of Animal Health is considering these changes to clarify the procedures for establishing and renewing commercial dog breeder and broker registrations. The requirements and costs associated with the program are imposed by the enabling statute, IC 15-21. The rule will provide clear direction on what is required to meet the registration requirement. The rule will establish a common monthly renewal date for registrations at the end of the month. A common expiration date will simplify administration of the program for BOAH and provide a clear and easily understood rule for regulated entities.
