Notice of Public Hearing
Under
IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on October 9, 2009, at 9:30 a.m., at the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, Indianapolis, Indiana, the State Board of Registration for Land Surveyors will hold a public hearing concerning the continuing education requirements for land surveyors.
The State Board of Registration for Land Surveyors has the authority to promulgate rules in accordance with
IC 25-21.5-2-14, that the Board considers necessary in the performance of its duty and to establish standards for the competent practice of land surveying. The proposed rule establishes the continuing education requirements for registered land surveyors, establishes the requirements for continuing education providers, the requirements and procedures for distance learning continuing education providers and registered land surveyors, and establishes the requirements for reactivation of an inactive license. Repeals
865 IAC 1-13 concerning continuing education and repeals
865 IAC 1-14 concerning continuing education providers. The primary reason for entering into the rewrite of the continuing education rule is to address the changes caused by the statutory provisions in
IC 25-1-4, regarding the automatically-approved providers and the distance learning requirements. This proposed rule will not impose costs on the regulated entities, because continuing education is already required by the land surveying board.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072 and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
