TITLE 876 INDIANA REAL ESTATE COMMISSION

Notice of Public Hearing
LSA Document #08-692

Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on October 7, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W064, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Real Estate Commission will hold a public hearing on increasing the investigative fund fee to assess real estate salespersons, brokers, and appraisers an additional $10 on all license issuances and renewals.
The Commission is promulgating these rules to maintain and increase the effectiveness of the investigative fund. This is a proposed rule to modify the real estate investigative fund fee from $10 to $20 for all real estate and appraiser licensees renewing and being issued a license to comply with IC 25-34.1-8-6.5 and IC 25-34.1-8-7.5, which is designed to provide funds for administering and enforcing the provisions of this article, including investigating and taking enforcement action against real estate and appraisal fraud. The investigative fund, which was established by Senate Enrolled Act 377, P.L.157-2006 is designed to further enforce the real estate and appraiser statutes and rules. In addition, the rule will enhance the protection of consumers from unscrupulous practitioners.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072 and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
