Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on August 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. EDT, at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room D, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Emergency Medical Services Commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed amendment to 836 IAC 1-1-5 to revise the required data elements to conform to specific National Emergency Medical Service Information System data elements and to correct typographical errors. Public comments are invited and may be directed to the Department of Homeland Security, Code Services Section, Attn: Mara Snyder, Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Room W246, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.

The Emergency Medical Services Commission has authority to adopt this rule under IC 16-31-2-7. The proposed rule will provide consistency with the data elements of the National Emergency Medical Service Information System. This consistency justifies the small economic impact of $10,000, affecting three small businesses, associated with the proposed changes. In determining the economic impact of the rule, the Commission relied on a survey of affected providers.
