Emergency Rule

Temporarily adds rules concerning scratch-off game number 176. Statutory authority: IC 4-30-3-9. Effective March 26, 2009. NOTE: IC 4-22-2-37.1 establishes the effectiveness of an emergency rule upon filing with the Publisher. This document was filed with the Publisher on May 14, 2009.


SECTION 1. The name of scratch-off game number 176 is "SIZZLIN' HOT 7S".

SECTION 2. Tickets in scratch-off game number 176 shall sell for two dollars ($2) per ticket.

SECTION 3. (a) Each ticket in scratch-off game number 176 shall contain a total of twelve (12) play symbols with two (2) play symbols located in the game play data area labeled "WINNING NUMBERS" and ten (10) play symbols located above and corresponding with each prize symbol in the game play data area labeled "YOUR NUMBERS".

(b) Each play symbol includes a caption that corresponds with and verifies the play symbol as follows:

(c) If a question arises as to a play symbol, the play symbol caption will be used for final clarification.

SECTION 4. (a) Each ticket in scratch-off game number 176 shall contain a total of ten (10) prize symbols, located directly beneath each corresponding play symbol, in the game play data area labeled "YOUR NUMBERS".

(b) Each prize symbol includes a caption that corresponds with and verifies each of the prize symbols as follows:

(c) If a question arises as to a prize symbol, the prize symbol caption will be used for final clarification.

SECTION 5. The retailer validation code verifies instant winners for prizes up to five hundred ninety-nine dollars ($599). The retailer validation code that corresponds with and verifies each of these winners is as follows:

SECTION 6. The retailer validation code, the game/pack/ticket number, or the validation number are not play symbols nor prize symbols and are not usable or playable as such.

SECTION 7. A prize winner in scratch-off game number 176 is determined by removing the scratch-off material from the game play data areas revealing a total of twenty-two (22) play and prize symbols. If any of the play symbols located in the game play data area labeled "YOUR NUMBERS" match either of the play symbols located in the game play data area labeled "WINNING NUMBERS", the ticket holder is entitled to win the prize directly beneath and corresponding with the matching play symbol. If a "065090354ERA05.jpg" (RED SEVEN) symbol is revealed, the ticket holder is entitled to win double the prize appearing directly beneath and corresponding with that symbol.

SECTION 8. (a) The approximate number of possible prizes and the estimated odds for each prize level are as follows:

Total value of all prizes*: $2,639,785
Prize payout: 64.70%
Overall odds: 1 in 4.37
Approximate print quantity: 2,040,000 (-3%/+1%)

(b) The prize and odds related information provided in subsection (a) is based on an approximate print quantity. The actual quantity of tickets will vary.

(c) If the print quantity is changed during production of this game or due to subsequent reorders of the game, the ratio of prizes and total value of all prizes to the print quantity will be proportionately maintained so that the overall odds and prize payout percentage will approximate the values provided in subsection (a).

SECTION 9. Prizes are subject to prior sales. The availability of tickets for sale in a scratch-off game depends on retailer orders for tickets. Not all tickets may be made available for sale prior to game closing and opened packs of tickets may be returned by a retailer to the lottery under 65 IAC 3-4-1(b).

SECTION 10. If the director determines an end date for scratch-off game number 176, under 65 IAC 4-2-3(a), tickets may remain on sale during the game closing process, even if all prizes of seventeen thousand seven hundred seventy-seven dollars ($17,777) have been claimed. Scratch-off game number 176 may be closed prior to all prizes being awarded.

SECTION 11. 65 IAC 4-1 through 65 IAC 4-3 apply to Scratch-off Game Number 176, SIZZLIN' HOT 7S.

SECTION 12. This document expires sixty (60) days after the last claim date in scratch-off game 176.
