Notice of Final Rate Changes in Methods and Standards
of Medicaid Reimbursement for Pediatric Nursing Facilities
Under
IC 4-22-7-7, and in accordance with 42 U.S.C.A. 1396a(a)(13)(A), the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services announces that final rates for changes to methods and standards governing reimbursement policy the institutions that qualify for a capital component rate add-on, the calculation of a capital component rate add-on, and the funding exemptions that apply to the capital component rate add-on have been published and are available for public inspection. The rates are as follows:

OMPP modified the existing reimbursement methodology at
405 IAC 1-14.6-7 to describe nursing facilities that qualify for the capital rate add-on as being facilities that house a population of which at least one-quarter is under 21 years of age on December 31, 2006, that have certain maximum room occupancies, and that have certain minimum room sizes. Related exemptions from the capital component overall rate ceiling and the maximum allowable increase respectively in
405 IAC 1-14.6-9(c)(4) and
405 IAC 1-14.6-23 are also described. The agency promulgated this rule due to the need for modernized pediatric long-term care facilities in the state.
