Notice of Public Hearing
Under
IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on May 27, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 1, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to
888 IAC 1.1-4-1 to amend the definition of "fixed practice facility" and
888 IAC 1.1-5-1 to remove the definition of "veterinarian-client-patient relationship" from the standards of practice established by a noncode provision of Senate Enrolled Act 316 (P.L.58-2008).
The Indiana Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners has the authority to promulgate rules in accordance with
IC 4-22-2 to enforce and administer
IC 25-38.1-2-14, including adopting standards of professional conduct for the competent practice of veterinary medicine and competent practice of a registered veterinary technician and
IC 25-38.1-2-23, to adopt rules that the board considers necessary to carry out the Board's duties. The proposed rule clarifies and revises language to make the rules consistent with the Board's statutes, removes out-of-date and unnecessary language in the rules, revises the standards of practice of veterinary medicine to reflect the current practices, and to bring the rules into conformity with the Board's statutes. This proposed rule will not impose costs on the regulated entities.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072 and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
