Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on February 3, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana State Department of Health, 2 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana the Indiana State Department of Health will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to 410 IAC 29-1 through 410 IAC 29-4 to add and update current definitions, update case management requirements for local health departments, add civil penalty provisions against labs that fail to comply with statutory requirements, and update prevention and remediation requirements for local health departments and to add rules to 410 IAC 29 to provide protections for the public against consumer products that contain or may contain lead, establish requirements for retail establishments to offer information and lead test kits to consumers about lead-based paint hazard, and establish minimum criteria for training programs for retail employee.

The Indiana State Department of Health has the authority to adopt this rule under IC 16-19-3-4, IC 16-19-3-5, IC 16-19-5-1, IC 16-41-39.4-1, and IC 16-41-39.4-7. This rule will not impose any additional requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3).
