TITLE 808 STATE BOXING COMMISSION

DIGEST
Adds 808 IAC 1-1.1-3 through 808 IAC 1-1.1-5 to add definitions for mixed martial arts; martial arts including jujitsu, karate, kickboxing, kung fu, and tae kwon do; and professional wrestling as required by SEA 557, P.L.112-2007. Effective 30 days after filing with the Publisher.

Sec. 3. For purposes of IC 35-45-18-1, "martial arts" means any form of:
(1) jujitsu;
(2) karate;
(3) kickboxing;
(4) kung fu;
(5) tae kwon do;
(6) judo; or
(7) sumo;
or any combination of full contact martial arts, mixed martial arts, or self-defense arts, involving, but not limited to, grappling, kicking, and striking, conducted on a full contact basis where a weapon is not used.

Sec. 4. For purposes of IC 35-45-18-1, "mixed martial arts", commonly referred to as MMA, means full unrestrained physical force in a contest that includes utilizing a combination of permitted martial arts techniques from disciplines of martial arts, including, but not limited to, grappling, kicking, and striking.

808 IAC 1-1.1-5 "Professional wrestling" defined

Sec. 5. For purposes of IC 35-45-18-1, "professional wrestling" means a form of sports entertainment in which the participants display their skills in a physical struggle against each other in the ring and either the outcome may be predetermined or the participants do not necessarily strive to win, or both.
