Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on November 12, 2008, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 20, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed rule to amend 675 IAC 14-4.3, the 2005 Indiana Residential Code, to clarify Sections R408.1, R703.7.4.2, and R703.7.4.3. Public comments are invited and may be directed to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Code Services Section, Attn: Mara Snyder, Indiana Government Center South, 302 West Washington Street, Room E243, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.

The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has authority to adopt this rule under IC 22-13-2. The Commission is directed by the Indiana General Assembly, in IC 22-13-2-2, to adopt a statewide code of fire safety and building laws. The proposed rule will provide clarification as to the correct interpretation of the three code sections.
