Adds 808 IAC 1-1.1-3 through 808 IAC 1-1.1-6 to add definitions for ultimate fighting; Ultimate Fighting Championships; mixed martial arts; martial arts including jujitsu, karate, kickboxing, kung fu, and tae kwon do; and professional wrestling as required by SEA 557, P.L.112-2007. Effective 30 days after filing with the Publisher.

IC 4-22-2.1-5 Statement Concerning Rules Affecting Small Businesses

SECTION 1. 808 IAC 1-1.1-3 IS ADDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

Sec. 4. For purposes of IC 35-45-18-1, "mixed martial arts", commonly referred to as MMA, means full unrestrained physical force in a contest that includes utilizing a combination of permitted martial arts techniques from disciplines of martial arts, including, but not limited to, grappling, kicking, and striking.

SECTION 3. 808 IAC 1-1.1-5 IS ADDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

Sec. 5. For purposes of IC 35-45-18-1, "professional wrestling" means a form of sports entertainment in which the participants display their skills in a physical struggle against each other in the ring and either the outcome may be predetermined or the participants do not necessarily strive to win, or both.

SECTION 4. 808 IAC 1-1.1-6 IS ADDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

Sec. 6. For purposes of IC 35-45-18-1, "ultimate fighting" and "ultimate fighting championships" means mixed martial arts events promoted and conducted under a federally registered trademark by Zuffa, LLC.
