Notice of Intent to Adopt a Rule

Under IC 4-22-2-23, the State Police Department intends to adopt a rule concerning the following:

OVERVIEW: This rulemaking action will amend 240 IAC 1-5-7.1 governing the minimum age by which a person can apply for a motor carrier inspector position. It will lower the minimum required age of 20 1/2 years of age prior to appointment to 18 years of age prior to application. It will also add the requirement that applicants be high school graduates or possess a GED equivalent. Statutory authority: IC 10-11-2-28.
