TITLE 345 INDIANA STATE BOARD OF ANIMAL HEALTH

Notice of Public Hearing
LSA Document #08-125

Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on July 10, 2008, at 9:35 a.m., at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 805 Beachway Drive, Suite 50, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that amends 345 IAC 8 to incorporate the 2007 revision of the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance.
The Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) is considering this rule because Indiana law requires the BOAH to adopt rules establishing standards for Grade A milk and milk products that are at least as effective in protecting public health as the standards adopted by the National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments (NCIMS) in accordance with the NCIMS's memorandum of understanding with the United States Food and Drug Administration. IC 15-2.1-23-6. Dairy farms, dairy plants, and dairy transportation businesses are currently required to comply with the dairy rules. The proposed changes will impose requirements on businesses, but the BOAH does not anticipate increased costs to businesses as a result of adopting the updated standards as compared to the current standards.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 805 Beachway Drive, Suite 50 and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
