TITLE 804 BOARD OF REGISTRATION FOR ARCHITECTS AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS

Notice of Public Hearing
LSA Document #07-661

Notice of Public Hearing

Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on January 9, 2008, at 9:30 a.m., at the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, Indiana Government Center-South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072, Gerald H. Quigley Conference Room, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Board of Registration for Architects and Landscape Architects will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments concerning the definition of design discipline.
The Board of Registration for Architects and Landscape Architects has the authority to promulgate rules in accordance with IC 25-4-1-3 that the Board considers necessary in the performance of its duty and to establish standards for the competent practice of architecture and landscape architecture. The proposed rule revises the definition of design discipline to broaden the requirements for licensure by reciprocity. The Board has found that very qualified architects have been denied licensure via reciprocity because the applicant does not have a degree in architecture even though the applicant may otherwise be qualified. This proposed rule will not impose costs on the regulated entities.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana Government Center-South, 402 West Washington Street, Room W072 and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
