TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;
WHEREAS, JUAN E. WILLIAMS, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1994 of Criminal Confinement, Intimidation, and Criminal Recklessness in Marion County, for which he served a sentence of two (2) years and nine (9) months; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner, who successfully completed his incarceration, is a married 41-year-old Indiana resident; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner has numerous letters of support from family, friends, and employers, all of whom recommend that his petition for pardon be granted; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner mistook the repossession of a car for an auto theft, is a law-abiding, productive citizen who served his Country, and led an upstanding life, received certificates of appreciation from the Department of the Army and the Marion County Sheriff's Department; and
WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended that this pardon be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State, do hereby issue a pardon to JUAN E. WILLIAMS.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 12th day of October, 2007.
