TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;
WHEREAS, CARMET FOSTER, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted forty-four (44) years ago in White County of Entering to Commit a Felony, for which he served a sentence of two (2) months; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner, who successfully completed his incarceration, is a married 67-year-old West Virginia resident; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner has numerous letters of support from family, friends, and community leaders, all of whom recommend that his petition for pardon be granted; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a law-abiding, hard-working, productive citizen whose crime would not have been a Felony under current criminal statutes, has led an upstanding life, and received a certificate of appreciation from the State of West Virginia for his community service; and
WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended that this pardon be granted.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State, do hereby issue a pardon to CARMET FOSTER.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 12th day of October, 2007.
