Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on December 14, 2007, at 3:00 p.m., at the Indiana Government Center-South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 5, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed rule to amend 675 IAC 14-4.3, the 2005 Indiana Residential Code, to clarify, amend, and modify the Code and to update various referenced standards by incorporating by reference and amending Chapter 43 of the 2006 International Residential Code, and by amending the name of the Code to the 2007 Indiana Residential Code.

Public comments are invited and may be directed to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Code Services Section, Attn: Mara Snyder, Indiana Government Center-South, 302 West Washington Street, Room E243, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204.

The Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has authority to adopt this rule under IC 22-13-2. The Commission is directed by the Indiana General Assembly, in IC 22-13-2-2, to adopt a statewide code of fire safety and building laws. The proposed rule will provide access to newer fire safety and building technologies and more economic options for the construction of regulated structures.
