Notice of Public Hearing
Under
IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on October 11, 2007, at 9:40 a.m., at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 805 Beachway Drive, Suite 50, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Board of Animal Health will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule that authorizes voluntary participation in the animal identification and tracking components of the National Animal Identification System (NAIS) and clarifies which animals must be identified for exhibition.
The NAIS is a three step national program coordinated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and implemented by the states. The proposed rule authorizes implementation of Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the NAIS as voluntary programs. The proposed rule authorizes only voluntary participation in Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the NAIS. Therefore, the proposed rule does not impose any costs on small businesses.
Copies of these rules are now on file at the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, 805 Beachway Drive, Suite 50 and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana and are open for public inspection.
