Notice of Public Meetings

The Pipeline Safety Division of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) will seek public comments on guidelines it is establishing to assist in the negotiations between pipeline companies and Indiana landowners affected by interstate pipeline construction or repair. Proposed Pipeline Construction Guidelines (Proposed Guidelines) will be made available to the public on July 18, 2007, from the IURC, 101 W. Washington St., Ste. 1500, Indianapolis, IN 46204. You may request a copy by calling (800) 851-4268, or access the Proposed Guidelines at www.urc.in.gov.

The IURC welcomes written and oral public comments on the Proposed Guidelines, which will be considered in finalizing the Guidelines. Written comments on the Proposed Guidelines will be accepted through August 1, 2007, and may be mailed or delivered to the IURC at the address above, e-mailed to pbarnett@urc.in.gov, or faxed to (317) 233-2410, ATTN: Proposed Guidelines.

In addition, the IURC will conduct a series of public meetings throughout the state in an effort to solicit comments. All interested persons are invited to attend and will be given an opportunity to express their views concerning the Proposed Guidelines. Written comments will also be accepted at the meetings. The Pipeline Construction Guidelines are voluntary guidelines required by SEA 529-2007 to be established by the IURC through a public process and published in the Indiana Register by September 1, 2007.
