EXECUTIVE ORDER: 07-07

FOR: PARDON


TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS MAY COME, GREETINGS;

WHEREAS, MICHAEL D. STRICKLER, who has petitioned for a pardon, was convicted in 1980 in Adams County of Burglary, for which he served and successfully completed three years of probation; and

WHEREAS, the petitioner, a long time resident and homeowner in Decatur, IN, is a 50-year-old man who has been an active member of his community, and since the instant offense has lived a law-abiding and productive life while having maintained steady employment; and

WHEREAS, the petitioner served in the Air National Guard from 1977 to 1983, attended Officer Training School, received a Certificate of Merit for Good Conduct and received an Honorable Discharge; and

WHEREAS, the petitioner has letters that support granting this pardon from both friends and family; and

WHEREAS, the Parole Board, after careful investigation and examination of all the facts in this case, has unanimously recommended to the Governor that this pardon be granted.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., Governor of the State of Indiana, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of said State, do hereby issue a pardon to MICHAEL D. STRICKLER.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Indiana on this 22nd day of May, 2007.
