Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on April 10, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., at the Indiana Department of Insurance, 311 West Washington Street, Suite 300, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Department of Insurance will hold a public hearing on proposed rules to provide registration, financial, actuarial, and operational requirements and fees for Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) and to otherwise implement IC 27-16.

The proposed rule requires each PEO to maintain a minimum net worth of $50,000 or a bond with a market value of at least $50,000. A PEO with a self-insured benefit plan must also have a fidelity bond covering persons with responsibility for the health benefit plan. The health benefit plan must purchase stop loss coverage and maintain a separate account holding reserves that are actuarially sufficient. Comments of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation will be available at the hearing and on the Department of Insurance's Web site at www.in.gov/idoi.
