Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on April 5, 2007, at 5:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room, North Judson Public Library, 208 Keller Avenue, North Judson, Indiana, the Natural Resources Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to 312 IAC 5-6-3. This statutory section provides special standards for watercraft and for the placement of piers and other temporary structures on Bass Lake, Starke County. The amendments provide consistency with statutory amendments to IC 14-15-3-17 by reducing the speed limit along the affected near-shoreline zone from 10 miles per hour to idle speed. The special authorization for longer piers on Bass Lake is made applicable to temporary piers and boat lifts under a general license, consistently with the treatment of temporary structures under 312 IAC 11. The defined term "shoreline or water line" is substituted for "waterline or shoreline", consistently with 312 IAC 11, and is made specific to the legal elevation of Bass Lake. The no-boat zone for the bathing beach at the former Bass Lake State Beach is continued for the current Bass Lake Beach and Campground.

The proposed rule amendments would not impose requirements or costs under IC 4-22-24(d)(3).
