Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on February 28, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center-South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room B, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Office of the Secretary of Family and Social Services will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the Medicaid reimbursement criteria (405 IAC 1-17) for state-owned intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded (ICFs/MR). The proposed rule will add state owned nursing facilities to the types of facilities subject to the reimbursement rule. In addition, amendments are being proposed that set forth the services that will be included in the state-owned nursing facility per diem rate (405 IAC 5-31).

In accordance with public notice requirements established at IC 4-22-2-24(d), the Office does not anticipate any significant additional requirements or costs will be imposed on providers subject to the rule. At this time, it is anticipated that only one provider, the Indiana Veterans' Home (IVH), will be subject to the rule, as amended. The increase in reimbursement that the IVH will receive as a Medicaid provider will more than offset any costs it may incur in becoming Medicaid certified.
