EXECUTIVE ORDER: 07-01

FOR: APPOINTMENT OF MARJORIE H. O'LAUGHLIN TO THE OFFICE OF TREASURER OF STATE

WHEREAS, Tim Berry, the current Treasurer of State, after having faithfully and diligently served the State of Indiana for two terms in such Office, has been elected to the Office of the Auditor of State in the last general election of the State of Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Tim Berry has commenced his service to the State of Indiana as the Auditor of State on or about January 1, 2007, and, thereupon, automatically has vacated the Office of the Treasurer of State by operation of the Constitution of the State of Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Richard Mourdock has been elected to the Office of the Treasurer of State in the last general election of the State of Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Richard Mourdock shall commence his service to the State of Indiana as the Treasurer of State on February 10, 2007; and

WHEREAS, it is now appropriate and necessary for the Governor of the State of Indiana to appoint a qualified and eligible resident of the State of Indiana to the Office of the Treasurer of State for the period commencing upon the vacation of the Office of the Treasurer of State by Tim Berry and ending at the time Richard Mourdock commences his service to the State of Indiana in the Office of the Treasurer of State; and

WHEREAS, Marjorie H. O'Laughlin faithfully and diligently served the State of Indiana for two terms in the Office of the Treasurer of State from 1987 to 1995 and is eminently qualified, eligible and willing to again act as the Treasurer of State during the period commencing upon the vacation of the Office of the Treasurer of State by Tim Berry and ending at the time Richard Mourdock commences his service to the State of Indiana in the Office of the Treasurer of State.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Indiana, do hereby order that:
