Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on February 13, 2007, at 9:20 a.m., at the Indiana State Department of Health, 2 North Meridian Street, Lieber Conference Room, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana State Department of Health will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to add rules that will establish reporting requirements of any death, serious side effect, or major complication and the circumstances in which the death, serious side effect, or major complication occurred for a patient of a physician who performs a surgical treatment for the treatment of morbid obesity.

These rules are designed to meet the statutory changes imposed by P.L.196-2005, which amended IC 16-40. Requirements not expressly required by the authorizing statute have not been imposed.

Copies of these rules are now on file with the Public Health Surveillance and Preparedness Commission at the Indiana State Department of Health, 2 North Meridian Street and Legislative Services Agency, One North Capitol, Suite 325, Indianapolis, Indiana, and are open for public inspection.
