Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on August 31, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at the Department of Insurance, 311 West Washington Street, Suite 300, Indianapolis, Indiana the Department of Insurance will hold a public hearing on a proposed rule to amend 760 IAC 3-3-1 to update the definition of Medicare eligible expenses to be consistent with the National Association of Insurance Commissioner model Medicare supplement insurance minimum standards model act.

The Department of Insurance has the authority to promulgate rules in accordance with IC 27-8-13 to establish standards for Medicare supplement insurance policies. This proposed rule will conform the definition of Medicare eligible expenses to the industry standard definition. This proposed rule will have no cost on the regulated entities. The Department has not relied upon any data, studies, or analyses in determining the imposition of requirement or cost.
