Under IC 4-22-2-24, notice is hereby given that on August 31, 2006 at 9:00 a.m., at the Indiana Government Center-South, 402 West Washington Street, Conference Center Room 18, Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indiana Department of Labor will hold a public hearing on proposed new rules 610 IAC 6, concerning wage and hour investigations; 610 IAC 7, concerning common construction wage hearings and common construction wage audit procedures; 610 IAC 8, concerning discrimination against employees exercising their rights under the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Act (IC 22-8-1); 610 IAC 9, concerning occupational safety education and training; 610 IAC 10, concerning occupational safety and health compliance, inspection, and penalties; 610 IAC 11, concerning child labor; and the repeal of 610 IAC 4. This rulemaking action codifies and clarifies existing Department of Labor policies.

The proposed rules would clarify already existing state and federal requirements and eliminate obsolete and poorly organized regulations. This clarification and streamlining would not create new requirements or regulatory burdens on regulated entities. The proposed rules do not impose any requirements that go beyond those required by state and federal statute. Therefore, this proposed rule would not impose any requirements or costs under IC 4-22-2-24(d)(3).
