“House Republicans share the Governor’s enthusiasm for moving Indiana forward. We will address the critical issues before us this legislative session while working to again honestly balance the state’s biennial budget.

“House Republicans will meticulously study each innovative proposal put forth by the Governor and will carefully consider the funding mechanisms for each proposal with the taxpayer first and foremost on our minds. We will also listen carefully to our constituents when making decisions on the best approach to the Governor’s initiatives.

“As we give careful consideration to the Governor’s agenda, we will give equal consideration to proposals put forth by each of the other legislative caucuses and ask that the same consideration be given to the House Republican legislative agenda.

“We have made considerable progress over the past two years and will work to further our goals to bring strong taxpayer protection, comprehensive education reform, job opportunity for every Hoosier and safe neighborhoods for our seniors, children and every family, wherever they may live.
