I am honored to serve the citizens of District 90 which covers the eastern half of Perry Township (east of Shelby Street and South of Thompson Road), almost all of Franklin Township, and the southeastern third of Warren Township (east of Franklin Road, and south of Washington Street).
The 2011 legislative session has now come to a close and I am proud that my first session here at the Statehouse representing my constituents was a productive and successful one. During this session, we passed legislation I believe will promote an attractive economic environment to bring businesses and job opportunities to Hoosiers across the state. We also successfully passed a balanced, responsible budget. These actions I believe have strengthened Indiana.
The Chamber of Commerce gave me a Pro Job rating of 91% this past session for my work to pass pro-job, pro-growth legislation. The Chamber of Commerce also recognized freshman legislators who made an impact either as an author or supporter of critical legislation. I was one of the freshman legislators specifically recognized for my authorship and work on House Enrolled Act 1538, legislation prohibiting local living wage ordinances. I will continue to keep further supporting job creation and spurring Indiana's economy as a top priority.
I welcome any questions, thoughts or concerns about state government or the legislative session. Please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Mike Speedy
State Representative
District 90
