While employed at Black Beauty, he had oversight of the largest surface mine built in the state of Indiana, the Farmersburg Mine employing approximately 240 miners. In 2002, the mines were sold to Peabody Energy where he currently serves as Operations Manager for two mines, Viking Mine and Miller Creek Mine, employing 300 miners.
