Indiana House District 50 has been represented by State Representative Dan Leonard since his election in 2002. Since that time, he has been assigned to the Judiciary, Labor and Employment, Public Policy, and Ethics and Veterans Committees. 

Prior to his service as a public official, Rep. Leonard was a member of many economic development committees in his community. He has served as past president of the South Side Business Association in Huntington County, president of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce, and Salvation Army board member in the region. Since 1978, Rep. Leonard has owned and operated the Southside Furniture Company in Huntington. Economic development and job creation are among Rep. Leonard's top priorities. He is committed to helping such initiatives in the area.

Rep. Leonard and only a handful of other legislators have achieved a perfect voting record in the Indiana House. Rep. Leonard was also awarded the prestigious "Legislator of the Year Award" by the Aviation Association of Indiana during the 2006 session.

In his free time, Rep. Leonard enjoys researching Indiana's Native American history and piloting his 1946 Aerocoupe.
