(Statehouse) Feb. 16, 2006- Rep. Rich McClain, a 4 year Naval veteran and strong supporter of veteran’s affairs, passed House Concurrent Resolution 25 unanimously out of the Indiana House today. The resolution would rename the Wabash Bridge located in Delphi, the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Bridge, in admiration of the men and women who bravely answered their country’s call.
“This memorial will stand as a salute to this country’s military men and women and help to recognize their service to our great nation,” said McClain. “I am honored to be a part of the dedication of this bridge to those that have provided military service to this country helping to salute those men and women within the entire state of Indiana.”
The Indiana Department of Transportation will place proper signage over the bridge, designating its recognition to our military heroes. This bridge will stand as a tribute and legacy to those service men and women that have paid the ultimate price for the freedom of this country.
“It is my honor to pass legislation that gives proper recognition to veterans and dedicates the Delphi bridge to people who have served this great country,” said McClain.
The proposed legislation now moves on to the Senate floor for further debate and passage.
