House District 16 encompasses portions of Cass, Fulton, Jasper, Pulaski, and White counties. In general, it is bordered on the south by U.S. 24, on the east by the Cass and Fulton County lines, on the north by the Fulton County line and the lower 1/3 of Pulaski County, and on the west by the Jasper County line. In more specific detail, the district contains the southern and western area of Jasper county, excepting a small portion just east of DeMotte. In White County, the district contains the northern half, excepting the areas of Moticello and portions of Lake Shafer. Salem, Indian Creek, and Van Buren townships are included in Pulakski Couty, and Boone, Bethlehem, Clay, and Adams townships are included in Cass County. The district also contains the entire area of Fulton County excepting the far southeast corner.
