| STATEHOUSE—State Rep. Don Lehe (R-Brookston) has been honored by Indiana Chamber of Commerce with its Small Business Champion Award, which recognizes legislators who support efforts for small business advocacy and growth.
Rep. Lehe was presented the award by Indiana Chamber of Commerce President Kevin Brinegar at the group’s annual Central Indiana Legislative Preview in Indianapolis.
“Small business has always been important to me,” said Rep. Lehe. “These businesses are the key to economic development in the state. As a legislature, we need to be finding ways to give small business a greater chance at success. All Hoosiers benefit from a stable and productive business climate, and I pledge to continue to support this issue going forward.”
The Small Business Champion awards have been given annually since 1993.
Rep. Lehe, a farmer, represents District 15, which covers all of Benton County and portions of Lake, Newton, and White Counties. He sits on the following committees: Agriculture and Rural Development (Ranking Republican Member) and Public Health. The 2010 legislative session is set to begin Jan. 5.
